I'm It!!

I woke up this morning to a little present in my inbox. I love presents. Presents are good. Dawn from Dolce Diva Designs tagged me. Thanks Dawn, you made me feel spay-cial ;)

These are the rules. Break them and be prepared for serious consequences. The blog police will hunt you down and cut your hair off. I love my hair therefore I will be very law abiding.

1. Link your tagger and list these rules on your blog.
2. Share 7 facts about yourself on your blog, some random, some weird.
3. Tag 7 people at the end of your post by leaving their names as well as links to their blogs.
4. Let them know they are tagged by leaving a comment on their blog.

So here are my 7 facts and you can finally realize how boring I actually am...

1. I was an Air Force brat therefore have lived just about everywhere. Ohio, Arizona, South Dakota, Alabama, North Carolina, Florida, the Philippines and California. Ok, that's not everywhere but it felt like it.

2. My Dad used to work at the Pentagon. I got to visit there for his pinning ceremony in 2003. I stood right where the plane crashed on Sept. 11. It was a very ominous feeling and an experience I will never forget. Not to mention, the Pentagon is FREAKIN' HUGE!

3. I can dislocate my shoulder and pop it right back in. I love the fact that I can do this because I love to freak people out. I am available for parties. My rates vary.

4. My daughter Lily has to take growth hormones. She requires a shot every day until around the age of 15. She is such a trooper and my hero.

5. I live on an island. This island to be exact. The Huffman Park photo on that site is right out my window. It is the sign in the park that was named after my grandma and grandpa. I live in my grandparent's house. The only home I've ever really called home and feel very fortunate to raise my children in a house that is so very special to me.

6. My best friend lives right next door to me in the house that she grew up in. I have known her since the day I was born. I think she dropped me on my head a few times. I will have my revenge.

7. I am addicted to scented candles. I have to have atleast one burning at all times. Right now this one is my favorite. It's divine (I've always wanted to use that word).

My taggees are...

Rachel from Home Sanctuary

Natalie

I love Ingrid

Rhoda from Southern Hospitality She has no clue who I am but I've been a long time admirer of her blog! Does that make me a stalker?

Beki from PamperingBeki

I've Ventured Over To The Dark Side...

I have succumbed to my ADD. I get very bored very easily with things. Especially my hair. I change it frequently. I am making alot of changes to my life so I figured why not my hair as well?

God gave me great hair in place of green thumbs...

I'd gladly shave my head for the ability to have a beautiful yard. I'm thinking it's a little too late to make that trade. Spring is approaching and I have a ginormous yard to get into shape. I moved here from Arizona, it is the desert. My biggest yard concern was not falling onto the cactus. I move back home to Ohio with a huge grassy yard that needs lots of landscaping, has weeds that pop up faster than the hair on my legs and trees that need trimmed more than my husband's nose hair. I'm at a loss and I have no problem admitting when I feel defeated. I feel defeated.

Ideally I'd like it to look like this...

Flowerbed

But at the rate I'm going I fear it will look more like this...

Yard

I'm skurred...very very skurred. I have no clue what to plant, where to plant it, how to take care of it etc etc. If anyone has some tips for my gardening impaired self I will love you forever.

I Get a Gold Plaque or a Library Named After Me or Something, Right?

10 years ago today I stood at a cheesy Las Vegas chapel, with neon "NUDE GIRLS" signs shining brightly in the background, a 20 year old boombox belting out "Here Comes the Bride" and the musty smell of dollar store decorations that hadn't been cleaned in years and I said I DO. 3 kids and 20 lb. later here we are celebrating our 10 year anniversary. Yes, we got married on Groundhog's day. Didn't you hear my description of our wedding? Romance wasn't exactly a priority. It's been a rocky 10 years but I'm so very glad that we have hung on. I couldn't be happier.

Us about 6 years ago, younger, skinnier....damnit....

Us now, older, chubbier...damnit

We're going to go see I Am Legend and dine at the Olive Garden, because we're romantic and creative like that....

Wowza, when I decided to join in in this Grand Bloggy Carnival I never guessed I'd get close to 300 entries, I guess I gots some mad beadin' skillz after all. Thank you so much to everyone with all of your sweet compliments and thanks for taking the time to enter. My husband now hates all of you because he is having to build new door frames to fit my ginormous head.

I will be turning off comments this evening at 7:00 PM EST, and as much as I'd like to just make the winner who ever inflated my ego the most, alas, I will be fair and do the number generator thingy. I'll announce the winner tomorrow morning! Thanks again for all the lovin'! And keep coming back as I'll be doing these giveaways on a regular basis, a little bribery to keep ya'll coming back never hurt anyone, right?

Ouch

My 5 year old son's future aspiration is to become a chef. I love this fact, it's not the usual, firefighter, policeman, athlete etc etc... I love that he is outside the box. Oh and I frickin love food.

He's really into this too because he is often in the kitchen whipping up all sorts of 5 year old concoctions. I allow this, I'm not gonna hold the boy down. The thing is, is that seeing as how during the day it's only he and I here i have to be the taste tester. I usually don't mind, because remember I frickin love food. But this morning I was getting full. After a bowl of Apple Jacks/Fruit Loops mixture, a piece of bologna with cream cheese on it and a bowl of grapes, orange slices and a few bananas mixed with strawberry yogurt I had had enough. Even my bottomless pit couldn't take anymore...

So he comes to me with a ziploc baggie full of assorted cheese cubes, this is our conversation...

Me: Buddy, I'm full, momma can't eat another thing or I'll burst! Waddya tryin' to do, make me fat?

And then my dear sweet son says ever so seriously: But you already are.

OUCH....
